Topic: Slide Problem Posted: 03 Oct 2016 at 6:02pm |
I have a 2015 183G, I bought new just over a month ago. I was washing it over the weekend and discovered the frame around the slide is pulling away from the body of the trailer.
The heads of the bottom four screws have broken off and the metal trim is pulling away.
It's really only visible when the slide is retracted which is why I never noticed it before.
Has any one else had this problem?
thanks

Yes, I had that problem with my 2016 RP180. The frame at bottom pulled out on both sides of bottom of slide. It made a noise when going out like something was dragging. When I returned from trip I took back to dealer and they repaired it under warranty. So far all is good but didn't find out what caused it.

So after some discussion with Forest River I've been told my R POD is "missing" some bolts that hold side of the slide to the trailer.
These bolts go right through the wall of the trailer and are visible from the inside.
I don't recall seeing these bolts in any of the Rpods I looked at prior to buying ours.
Anybody have these bolts?
Thanks

After taking my 180 to dealer to get slide repaired they called and need me to bring it back as Forest River said it also needed bolts and they had received them so will be taking it back in two weeks for the bolts to be added.

If that's what they're going to look like I'm pretty sure I don't want them. I don't like the looks of the inside...

You can't see the bolt ends when the slide is deployed, unless you're really looking for them. The fascia from the trim on the slide covers them up.

I had the same problem with my 2016 rpod 179. The screws backed off the frame of the pull out. I siliconed and re-screwed the frame. It is with the dealer now, so I hope they get the proper fix for it.

I agree that it looks cheesy.
Needless to say I don't want their "fix" I wouldn't have bought the unit with bolts sticking through it like that, but now I'm supposed to accept it like that.

Actually, you would have.. "missing bolts" mean they are supposed to be there. It's what holds the slide frame in place.
