Topic: No Fridge At All Posted: 28 May 2017 at 12:23pm |
Hi Folks. I am new to the pod world having recently bought a virtually new 2015 182G. Trouble is that the fridge will not turn on in any mode: house power, batteries, or propane. The 110 from the fridge is plugged in and the light inside the fridge turns on, but no cooling. Batteries are full as is the propane tank. All breakers are on and all fuses are working. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Did you push and hold the power button?

I think there is a reset button inside the fridge as well. Try that.

It may be working. These ammonia absorption refrigerators don't make any noise when running. On propane you may be able to hear a faint noise of the gas burner if you're outside right next to the service doors. They also take quite a while to cool and it may take several hours before you notice the cooling inside. When preparing for a trip you should let the fridge cool for at least 24 hours and always load pre-cooled food. It's not like a home refrigerator.

Good advice. By golly it is working on the house 110v. I have a thermometer in there and it's getting colder....slowly. I was expecting to hear it turn on like a household fridge...no experience with these rv fridges.

As Charlie stated above, they are very quiet and for us, we will turn ours on 24 hours before loading with food so it is properly cooled. Also, the light on the outside of the door will blink on and off if it is not functioning properly. If the lights (mode and temp) lights stay constantly on, pretty good bet the fridge is working.

Switched it over to propane and it didn't immediately start. I'm going to wait a bit as some have suggested. Perhaps there is air in the line.

Light the stove, make sure you have propane in the line.
