We were recently in NC and saw an R-Pod look-alike but it was apparently built of aluminum and had a sharply pointed stern instead of the more rounded R-Pod end. I thought it had 'MAX' in fancy letters on the back but this doesn't bring anything up in an internet search and I may have misread the lettering.
Any news on this??

I saw Comets at a dealership in Eureka, MO. They were virtual duplicates of R-Pods, with almost identical layouts and features.
More cheaply constructed. More expensive.

They are both from the T@B world. The company, more or less, split last year. These are both "takes" on the European T@B 400.
Most tabbers use a cassette or composting toilet anyways. And none of them are used to big tanks of any kind. I attend a couple large T@B rallies.. many have been looking forward to the "larger" models. Here is another, even more unique one you may see around.. Made in Canada, pretty upscale, much of the same design and owner mindset... I know two stateside owners. Well made, but weird.. LOL Alto |

My parents own an Alto here stateside. Hand-built in a small facility near Montreal. The build quality is lightyears ahead of any FR product. |

For the money they get, it should be. We paid $12.6K for a well equipped R-Pod 177.. The Alto 173 is going to set you back nearly 3x that, base, and, last I heard, their wait times are even longer then Lance, (which is a year out from order date right now) at 18 months. There are actually several very well made small campers, all of which cost more then a Pod.. And that's part of FR's, and most everyone elses, selling point.. a "price point" |
