I need to drop the black water tank, as I need to access the inside of the frame right behind the tank.

I am not certain what kind of a hornets nest I'm opening, as I don't know what kind of connection there is between the black tank and the toilet (I assume the toilet is the only thing connected). We have never used our toilet, so I don't think I'll encounter any sewage surprises. Still, I don't know what I'm getting into...

Any insight or other knowledge would be appreciated.

Glueguy,

There is a black tank vent and of course the backflush. There is a flange at bottom of toilet, not sure but imagine you will have to remove toilet. If answer isn't forthcoming here, call FR and ask them, hopefully you will get right person.

The flush appears to attach on the side of the tank. That looks simple enough to R & R. I would also remove the drain assembly and a couple other things (sensor wires, etc.). Just whatever fitting is above (between the top of the tank and bottom of the floor) is not visible until I drop the tank.

I agree, not sure how the vent attaches.

GlueGuy, I'd say mcartergave some +1 advice with contacting FR. You can either email them and wait or give them a call to see how it all hooks up to the tank. Hopefully they are just slip fittings and vents and such are not glued into the tank. Please do let us all know what you find out because you never know when another may need to know.

That is probably my next step. I'll be contacting our dealer, as they have been very helpful with everything so far. I'll also contact FR to see what they have to say.
