Picking up a used R-POD 177, 2011 Friday. We'll be taking it up to central Vermont to leave on our 20 acre property for the summer. We started out looking at pop-ups, but stumbled across the pod and really liked it. My girlfriend (of 25 years) grew up with a pop-up. I've always been one of those, "if you can't carry it on your back, it's not camping" people. Last year my sister put her pop-up on our Vt. land (she lives about 20 minutes from it.) and we stayed in it. I had to admit that a camper has it's advantages. On the property we have about a 1200 foot driveway that terminates at the upper end of a 3-4 acre pasture that looks across a valley at the backside of sugarbush and Mad River ski areas. My family has camped here since 1976. There is a large screened building with a sink and gravity feed running water from a well higher up.

Given our ditance away (living in Ct.) we feel the pod will be more secure when away and we won't be dealing with set-up and tear down with a pop-up, especially if it's wet.
The 177 is in mint condition, has the R-dome, air conditioner, convection/microwave, DVD player.
I'll be towing it with a 1994 Dodge 2500. (cross my fingers!)
This forum has been very helpful in sealing our decision on getting the R-pod.

Congrats on the purchase of the R-pod!  Sounds like a great place to camp at.  Any questions feel free to ask!

We'll be setting her up at home to try everything out. Can't wait! Guess we need to find a name for her.

The plan, or at least part of it, is to take down our existing screen building thats over 30 years old and build a new (and better) one that the pod will dock with. Having the pod to stay in while rebuilding will be nice! The flies up there can be pretty bad.
I suspect that we will also venture out to do some campground camping. We have camped at Cobbscook bay State park in Maine years ago and would like to pod on up there. But before we go tooling around too much we'll need to get a new tow vehicle. The old dodge runs well, but the rest of her is getting pretty ugly. I had the dealer where we got the pod check her out just to be on the safe side. They said towing to Vt. would be fine, but didn't reccomend  taking off cross country.

Welcome!  They way you describe your property that sounds almost exactly like what I would love to have - just add a lake or river.  Enjoy!
