We opened the end of the dinette bench next to the door on our 171. I cut out the plywood panel leaving the support on the floor to act as a stop for flying litter. our cat is small so it works just fine. A big cat would find it cramped.
There are several threads showing photos of this mod on the forum. |

Where on the site can I find pictures of the mods, I looked an could not find them. Thinking of removing door under the bed in our 171, my only drawback is that the whole compartment is open to the back and I do not want my cat to have access to the 2 outside doors in the back.
Thanks, |

No worries, the rear storage compartment is separate from the area under the bed. Technically they are both under the bed, but there is a wall between then. Your cat won't be clawing at the storage doors. When you first come to the forum you'll see one sub-forum for "podmods", maintenence, etc. That is where you'll find tons of threads on the mods. Start with the very first one. http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_topics.asp?FID=2&title=podmods-maintenance-tips-and-tricks |

MMMMM!!! Interesting. Believe or not in the 2013 they left a space opened between the 2, I wondered did they forget to close it completely or is it volontary. I will try to block it either with a piece of foam or with plastic containers filled with clothes.

Seems odd that they would leave them open to each other, but good to know.
