We've searched and searched with many hours of looking at campers inside and out. We had ruled out the Rpod and decided on hybrids, but after looking today and decided on an Rpod. The 178 seems to have the floor plan that we like the best and have made an offer on a new 2014 model contingent upon us inspecting it tomorrow and still liking it due to not being in a 2014 model yet. Can anyone tell me the differences in the 2014 and 2015 models? We can get a 2015 for about a $1600 more, but if all is the same will go with the 14. Please elaborate on all known differences and thanks in advance!

Not 100% sure on this but I think the HDTV was moved out of the bed area and put on a swing are just inside the door. People like it there better, but I thinking most would live with it where it is for $1,600.00.

Yeah, I don't plan on watching TV anyhow, will spend about all of our time outside around the fire.

2014 has the tv by the door also. Should be the same as 2015 except I think the exterior color.

I think I like the placement if the Tv best in the 176 that we saw, but either place in the 178 will work for me. I knew exterior color was different too. Are the 2014's pre wired for solar, have LED lights throughout?

Color is not a defining year model marker, you will see some 2015s with the same decal scheme as the 2014s. Not sure about the solar connection, but I do know this. All it consists of is a flush mounted 10 gauge SAE connector in the rear with 10 gauge wire that run all the way up to the battery. If you don't have it, it clearly would be more efficient to have a shorter connection near the battery and shorten the 20' run. As far as LEDs, if you don't have them a lot of folks have refitted and it's definitely worth the trouble, especially if you will be doing a fair amount of dry camping, providing you can also catch some rays.  As a matter of fact, that is what I am working on this weekend, finishing up my solar panel connections.

I have a 2014 178. The tv and dd are right when you walk in. The tv on a swing arm. Not sure if different with Hood River Ed. And "crown package" which mine also is.

Nice...production changes don't seem to be defined by year model. The TV/DVD combo over the bed, AKA "head banger" definitely fell out of vogue.
