I have ordered a Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C surge protector for my 179.  Has anyone installed one of these in a 179?  If so, where did you install it?  I believe there is a junction box underneath the bump out section of the dinette seat next to the fridge where the power cord comes in from the outside outlet.  I am thinking about installing the surge protector there.  Any tips or advice would be helpful.  Thanks.

Every 179 owner I know of so far, has mounted in the bottom of the cabinet, just as you come in the door, on the right, just above the power distribution center.

We have a 179 and I mounted it behind the electrical panel.  I mounted the display on the rail between the panel and the lower pantry cabinet.  Seemed like a logical place for it, and the constantly cycling display isn't visible from the bed to keep you awake at night.

Didn't have to cut any of the original wiring so it's 100% removable if we ever wanted to do that.  The only cutting or drilling at all was for the hole I drilled for the cord of the display.

Thanks for information. Do you have pictures of your setup?
