We plan on parking our 2017 172 on a crusher run pad that slopes front to back at a 10% grade (2 ft drop over 20 ft). It will be a tight fit on each side, so we are considering buying a Trailer Valet 5X. Will it work for this situation? Will we have to put a board down to keep it from slipping? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a Trailer Valet. It worked great on level or nearly level asphalt surface. It would surprise me if it would work on your 10% grade gravel drive. Putting boards down would help if the gravel surface had less slope but on a 10% grade I would be concerned about it slipping. Part of the issue is that you would only have the tongue weight holding the small tires of the  Trailer Valet in contact with the ground. If you were to get part of the way up the 10% grade & the Trailer Valet started to spin or worse yet slip backwards, you would have the entire weight of the Pod trying to roll downhill. I seriously doubt the  Trailer Valet brakes could stop it.

I replaced my Trailer Valet with a power trailer mover from Purple Line.  http://www.purplelineusa.com/video-introducing-power-trailer-movers.php

I used a trailer dolly with small inflatable tires to move around an empty 16x8 covered cargo trailer, not so heavy as a Pod, on a flat hard pack surface with pea gravel on it and it worked, but it wasn't easy.  With loose gravel, ufff, you'll be struggling.   Adding a grade 10% would be asking for an accident.

I have a trailer Valet XL. I love it, but it would not work on gravel, even on a level surface. The literature says it works on gravel, but the demo they show on their site shows it on gravel with an unloaded flat bed utility trailer.

I have one and I'd like to get rid of it since it will ONLY work on a hard surface!  I even put down a motorcycle ramp with big corrugations in it and the Trailer Valet still wouldn't move the Pod.
