When we were at Sampson, we had water...just some sites were farther away from hooking up water, so we had an extra hose length.

Thanks Folks, We've been around the area many times and love it in the fall. We know Clute park but it's not for us. Sampson park does look like a good option, haven't been there. The trouble with state parks is a lack of water on site, I guess we'll just have to fill our tank prior to getting to the site. We can start at the furthest wineries and work our way back to the campground. Watch out for the wobbly silver Traverse! lol

Last year we stayed right in Watkins Glen at the Clute Park Camoground. Thie location was nice for getting into the village quickly. The sites not so nice, no trees. But location, location... be sure to go to Watkins Glen State Park,,, beautiful!. You also can access wineries from there. We have stayed at Sampson Park twice. Very nice park, great for biking. Also you are close to a golf course and of course, the wine trail...lots of wineries to visit on the east side of Seneca Lake. If you have time, when at Sampson, check out the museum. It was very interesting!
