Yes, I see what you mean. The concept seems good though.

Agree. Ours, at least, flares out right behind the coupler (and into the A frame), and is welded on.

It's OK to wait until the snow melts... Wink

Mine fits snug enough that I have to smack the front of the lock to get the pin up. It doesn't rock or move at all. The whole thing fits good and tight. I have to get the chains in exactly the right place, or the shroud won't seat far enough to get the puck on either. There is no play in any direction with it.

Thanks for venturing out brother. And putting the naysayers to rest.

Here is one..
Not completely convinced, but that hardened steel puck would probably convince me.

What I'm talking about is the opening at the bottom. I think there is enough room to get the business end of a crowbar in there:

There is not.

Thanks for making me go out in the snow and mud.. LOL

Maybe. Maybe not. Consider that the video was produced by Proven, so they are not going to show you any of their weaknesses. Looking at how loosely that puck fits into the cutout, I think there is enough room to get the hook end of a large crowbar behind it, and just stomp on it. Since it's made of aluminum, I think it might just pop off.

BTW - We use the same coupler lock as StephenH. Our goal is to "encourage" potential thieves to go somewhere else. I do still think the proven is the best, but I'm not wearing rose colored glasses either.
