And there aren't many tv channels here. Other folks get more. I have the booster on and it's red. The one channel and it's 3 subchannels are good. Should be more. Does the antenna on a 177 adjust in any way?

We have the same problem with our new 177. No dvd. Can't remove the base unit. It is attached with square drive screws. Boo. I don’t have anything like that here. I'll bring something later.

GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS!!! I finally took the unit out and checked the back for the transportscrew. There were a bunch of numbered/lettered wires not hooked to anything, but were sticking in the vents in the back of the DVD area. Verified that transport screw had been removed. We carefully moved all the wires to the side and out of the vents & carefully reinstalled the unit.
Bingo!!! DVD plays as advertised! I think the ends of those wires were preventing the Disc from playing. Or else we scared the unit because now it knows we can remove it's guts!!!
Thanks for all your help! This forum is the greatest!!!

I have a 2014 Jensen system. There is just a yellow cable to connect. I connects on the wall to the TV video out and to the yellow jack on the back of the TV, then change the TV source to AV by pressing the source button on the TV or on the remote. If it still doesn't work, there must be a problem in the system and you should contact the dealer.

Jan or Dean,
My 2014 177 has three cables going to the TV from the wall; red, white, and yellow. They are hooked up to the input on the TV. My DVD plays on AV. My wall plug has the three connectors too, not just one. You might take the TV Video wall plate off and see if there are other wires behind it. Maybe they installed the wrong plate?
The DVD sound comes from the system speakers. I have had problems with the USB memory plug not loading.

Yes; we have the outdoor speakers, also - I'll let you know what I find out from Forest River on Tuesday. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, I can't help you either. Ours has the black wall plate with multiple cables. Our '14 178 has the "Crown Package" with the outdoor speakers, etc. Does yours?

I think calling Forest River is a good idea. The TV works fine and the radio is great - just can't get that pesky DVD player part of it to work. I really appreciate all your input from you guys and taking your time to help me out. I'll post what I find out. Have a wonderful Memorial Day and from Dean and I (both Veterans) to all our Veterans we appreciate your service. Special nod to all the retired policemen and firefighters out there, also. See you on the road!
