Your right, the levitationizers on Amazon are expensive but well worth it.

Hi from Bill. Both FR & Lippert tell you different things. You are right you jack under the bracket & put a jack stand between the jack & tire while you do service work & you can relieve pressure on the jack.

That is the best spot that I could find. You should have received a PM with the specific link showing the jacking block I made to best jack up the pod without putting pressure on the axle tube.

Hello, With regards as to where to PLACE the jack on an Rpod, in my case a 2018 178, should the jack be placed only on the bracket in the attached picture? Haven't quite figured out how to get the picture to appear (I might not be able to link to OneDrive). Copy and paste these links into your browser. Sigh, these links may not work. Let me know. https://1drv.ms/i/s!AoFQRUJHVZ-Rth8cYS-SKpw_6vrN Here is SteveH's homemade jacking block https://1drv.ms/i/s!AoFQRUJHVZ-RtiCIeE8jistTFQUv Or in the forum http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=7712&PID=82715&title=our-escapod-mods#82715 |

If you jack where the axle attaches to the frame, the axle won't bend. I assume the axle is capable of holding up that much weight without being crushed, which is the only way it could be damaged.

I've been jacking on the axel (same type as used on the Pod, Torsion axels) for 20 years. I see no reason not to. The axel is plenty strong enough for these light trailers and that used to be the recommended spot even according to the axel manufacturer. My Pod is in the shop right now, so is all my paperwork/manuals (in the camper) but as soon as I get it back, I'll check where I saw the jack points in my manual. I could swear it said to jack on the axel. But I might have dreamed that!

My mechanic uses a floor jack in the spot Stephen H suggests when he does the inspection on the bearing and tires etc
Seems to be good. No problems in 7 plus years of rpods
