I installed ours next to the power center in our 190.  I was able to remove a panel next to it and recess it in the wall.  Looks great, works great.

On my 2018 180 behind the converter was the best place. The shore power romex had just enough slack to do it without having to add wire and a junction box. I did add pigtails to the box grounds and twisted the romex grounds on instead of trying to directly screw the romex grounds to the box down in that cramped space. I initially mounted the display panel next to the slider switch but quickly realized that constant flashing would get irritating, like living over a chinese restaurant or something, so just moved inside the overhead cabinet.

Thanks. I think I'll try putting it behind the distribution center, jumping it to the main breaker.

NHpod,
We have a 179.  We mounted our Progressive Industries ems-hw30c behind our power station.  Very easy to install.  I have pictures at home that I'll post tonight.
Thanks

Has anyone installed their own hardwired surge protector? If so, which model did you install and where did you install it?   Are the wires easy to get to?
Thanks
