Generator Question

The 1000w generator won't let you use the oven or air conditioning.  The 2200w will.  The air con might be iffy though.  If you don't want the air or microwave the 1000w generator will do a good job of keeping your battery topped off.  The smaller generator will probably be easier on the gasoline too.  Personally, I like the flexibility of the larger generator.

I have the Honda EU2200i and it's Companion. They were about $1000 each, but they were worth it to me. Quiet, efficient, and managable. You can lift each one and attach them to each other to run the AC, or just one for smaller tasks.

We are preparing to take our new 2018 Rpod 180 on a trip from Indiana to Alaska for the summer (2-3 months).  We will probably be doing a lot of boondocking as Alaska websites seem to indicate.  We are looking at small generators, i.e., Honda 1000 or Honda 2200 (this yrs update from 2000).  They seem to be relatively quiet and a nice small size.  One of us says get the 1000 because it weighs about 20 lbs less than the 2200.  The other one of us says get the 2200 because it will give us the needed power.  Can any of you give us your thoughts and/or experience with generators for Rpods.  Thanks!
