I don't remember how mine is, but solid plastic rope seems to ring a bell. I do know it's very stiff, and it doesn't fold easily, but i manage to get it into the storage bag. Its stiff enough that on the screen that feeds through the bottom keder rail, once i get it inserted into the rail, the rest pretty much sticks straight out without being held. That's pretty stiff.

We ordered our keder samples from American Keder, and the samples they sent have a solid "rope" of plastic on the inside of the keder. It is so stiff; as in very, very stiff, that I now realize that stuff won't fold. Is all keder this way, or do some manufacturers put an actual rope inside (which I presume might be more "foldable")?

As this stuff is, I'm thinking that I will need to segment the length of keder into 2, 3, or 4 foot sections just to allow us to fold the awning. Otherwise, the only place we might be able to stow this thing is on the roof in a giant burrito roll of sorts.
