You don't have to be 70. I will admit I did fall off my roof. Incident with an extension ladder. That's a big 9 feet. Took over a week for the bumps and bruises to heal and I was lucky, no breaks. I have a healthy respect for ladders and roofs.

A common accident for men over 70, falling out of trees and off ladders.  StephenH is right be careful if you are older and your sense of balance is diminished.

Thanks, Stephen - I saw them too, and none of them looked like the weighed in at 225 lbs. so I'm a little wary of testing the top - I'll figure it out!

If you look at the factory tour videos, you will see workers on top of the 'Pods. The flat part of the roof is quite strong. I don't think there will be any issues getting up there to wash and wax it except for being careful not to fall off.

I think a gantry crane would be nice, but it's a little beyond my budget.

Hmmmm - maybe putting a 2x board across the width so it sits on the side framing, then sitting on that board - that might work.

Tks for the input .......

Can't say for you, but I waxed the whole top and then took a buffer to it.  Came out really nice, but now a few months later, it needs washing again.  How did I get the wax on the roof and buff it?  I got onto the roof and sat there kind of sideways with my legs extended, then slid, more correctly slithered, around.  I didn't hear any awful cracking noises or have any leaks afterward, so I guess I didn't break anything.  And, I'm no feather weight.
