Problem solved, I spliced a switch into the power wire to the radio and use it to disconnect power rather than using the power button on the unit. This also puts an end to power drain from the battery when the radio is off but drawing power for the clock.

I have a 2015 178 and whether plugged into 120 volts or on battery something weird happens. I'll walk by the unit in the driveway and the radio is on, even though it was turned off. I've been working on her unit outside and all of a sudden the radio turns on again, for no reason. I was thinking of adding a switch to the power line just to stop accidental battery drain, has anyone else had this issue?
thanks
