We tow a 172 with a Wrangler 4 door with the same rear gears you have, tires I'd have to go look.  I think the issue with the 2 door is the Jeep's size.  I can say for sure the mileage takes a big hit with the 4 door.  Stopping is not an issue with the brake controller, we're also using a weight distributing hitch and sway bar on the hitch.

Has anyone towed a 171 with a 2 door 6 Speed manual Jeep Wrangler, I have the 3.73 diff and 255/75 Tires, I know it's not rated but still looking for a 2016 Tacoma manual or Ram 1500 Diesel and want to play with my new toy
