We are Luddites and don't use a micro, tv, or entertainment center either.  We have used the AC twice in 2 years.  I did put an old salvaged/repaired toaster oven in the storage under the bed to use if we're plugged in or are desperate to cook a pizza or some cookies, but I suspect I'll be putting it in the garage soon.

I removed ours when we bought the Pod.  We don't use a microwave or TV while camping.

PM me if you want to buy it.

Even on older pods you could order as much or as little to suit your needs.  When we ordered our 177 back in January 2011 we special ordered ours w/o A/C, w/o microwave/convection oven and w/o the entertainment system.  We have not regretted not having any of those items.  We normally dry camp so those items would be of no use to us anyway.  Probably the original owner ordered it that way from the factory.

Did you buy your Pod new? I thought the microwave was standard equipment for that year? What ever, if it was or not you can follow Pod People advice and install your own microwave/convection oven.

These are "standard" convection/microwaves that have a trim kit installed.  the trim kit is the front face plate that simply surrounds the m/w to make it look built in.  check with an appliance store and you will find that a lot(not all) of m/w have an available trim kit as an option.

I have taken our m/w in and out several times in order to get to some wiring.  the biggest issue of installing the m/w is determining how to stabilize the unit at the right height for the the trim kit.  Usually there is a metal frame that the m/w sits on .  this could be built out of wood  or metal if you are installing an aftermarket m/w and trim kit.

good luck

Our 2016 180 does not have a microwave. Just an empty space where one could be installed. Most I have seen in other r pods are convection microwave combo, and appear to be ‘built in’.
I haven’t been able to find a model that would be the same as that which would have come from the factory.
Any suggestions on model etc. would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
