I purchased the Zinus mattress, bedding, rug, and lamps in the picture all from Amazon and I couldn't be happier with all of it. The frame is really cool because it collapses down. In a matter of minutes, the frame is only 2 inches thick and can be carried out easily by one person. That would be great for home staging but I use it all the time. Totally worth the price and, if you shop strategically on Amazon, you can get a really high-end look for pennies on the dollar.

We just recieved this topper yesterday and got it installed and the bed made. (There is a nasty chore) Anyway the combination of firm base and softer temper material seems like a good one. But we have not slept in it yet. Waiting for weather to cool just a bit. |

We bought our 2011 177 used and thought there was a funny smell in it when we first went out. We also were not very comfortable so when we got back from the first trip we purchased the mattress below and now sleep like logs. It was also Amazon Prime free shipping!

Hi Mike,
Wife sleeps on the twin in the back with a reading light she loves. I sleep on dinette and usually listen to radio or watch TV (with ear buds). Henry would jump off her bed, run across floor and jump on my bed. Always right in our face, say something, and then jump and run back. His game just to torment the staff. He loved the pod. I think he thought he had two humans in his little world and was in total control!! He never minded be left alone and never tried to escape. Seemed to be happy with his peeps. Was great in the TV too. I do miss him. We keep podding on. fred

Fred,
I like your mod, but trying to figure out where the wife sleeps and how far could Henry jump? You have a twin in the back and the dinette in front. I did look at the pics. |

We took a pretty radical approach.
Converted the queen to a standard twin/sofa with end table. Then replaced all the foam in the dinette with a much superior foam. I use a Alps mountaineering self inflating pad on the dinette. We use sleeping bags with custom bag liners wife made. This has worked out great for us over many, many nights. It also gives us a slight larger and more comfortable living/lounging space during the day. We have it down to an art and only takes us a few minutes to setup @ night and breakdown in AM. We sleep well and when we had Henry, the camping cat, he loved jumping back and forth between our two beds in the morning. Pics in my sig. fred

If you got the Zinus 8" mattress, you won't need the original also. Once you get it in there and it is fully expanded, lie down on it. I think you will find it more than adequate. If you think it isn't, get a mattress topper locally and trim to fit. It will be far better than adding the stock mattress.
