I actually stopped by the Forest River factory in Oregon to watch them build pods. The quality control and production guys came out and took a look, asked a lot of questions and loved the mods.but in the end they said it would be to heavy for the target audience with the mods and extra storage available for cargo. They liked the window in the bath and the light switches though... and told me my warranty is void. Lol

You did a heck of allot work and it looks amazing, funny how the factory/designers waste so much usable space. You should sell ur ideas to Forest River...then again it might embarrass them 🤔

Tony,
Here's what I did to my elec panel compartment. Before, After    You can see I moved it to face the the entry hall. I then moved the drawer from the other dinette seat to this side because it fit perfect. I then made a much larger drawer for the forward dinette seat. Actually upon measuring there is a 2 1/2” gap between top of seat cover and my inner wall, I also drilled holes to aid in more ventilation

Thanks for the tip, the way mine is constructed there is a 3/4” gap between the top seat cover and the inner wall. With the permanently open access hole it should provide better ventilation than the factory setup. I am also going to drill some vent holes to provide even more ventilation.

If you do a search this mod has been posted before and also a longer drawer can be added under the other dinette seat. Just make sure to add some ventilation (either holes or a small fan) as the space for the electronics gets tight as you steal from it for a storage area and can get hot. Also FR could deny warranty work (and the fuse box does break, ours did) if this area is compromised

Under the dinette seat which has the power supply, remove the plywood cover and you will notice there is a lot of wasted storage space.
I relocated the wire bundles and clamps closer to the power supply, and with some minor framing modifications I was able to create a nice storage space for shoes or anything else you may want to store. |
