Most 178 owners go behind the panel. Working under the slide is a pain.. But either works fine.

Yes, the 30A feed from the trailer 120V connector should be 10/2 with ground. As i don't have a 178 I can't really help on placement, but the closer to the trailer connector the better so it can protect as much of the trailer electrical system as possible.

Hi All
I am in process of installing an PI EMS-HW30C in my 178.  I have pulled the power panel by the door and was looking at the feed wire into the panel that comes from the 30 amp plug on the other side of the trailer.  The wire is orange romex, I assume that is 10GA,  10/2 with grd?  I was planning to put the EMS in the compartment behind the power panel but really not a lot of room there with all the plumbing and wire already there.  I am half contemplating mounting it under the slide by the plug inside the trailer.  Just a pain to get to things under there.  Anyone install an EMS on a 178 and where did you put it?  Thanks for the input as always the talents and creativity of this group are so helpful.

Cheers, Dave
