I kinda doubt that asking questions of the OP will get a reply. Only 4 posts in a year.

I assume you want a thermostat so the fan kicks on when it gets to hot inside? When it's not at a campsite. I don't know if your afraid of killing the battery, but I pretty much turn my fan on low in the spring, and I shut it off in the late fall. At times I increase the speed when it's parked, and it's 100 degrees for a few days. I store mine at home, and keep it plugged into a 15 Amp plug, so the battery isn't a concern to me, and it's easy to go change speeds if I want.

Curious as to how the swap went..... thinking of doing the same to my 190.

I contacted MAXxFAN support, and they confirmed the housing is the same for both models, so I'll report back on how easy the swap-out was.

Hello. My 2018 179 has a MAXxFan, and I was wondering if anyone has upgraded to the MAXxFAN Plus? The Plus has a thermostat, which is the feature I'm interested in. I'd like to know if the "guts" of fans can just be swapped out without the need to remove and replace the portion on the roof.
