I was draining my water heater to check the anode rod. I noticed water dripping from places in front of and behind the heater. It looks like the outside cover is leaking so I think I am going to have to take the cover off so I can clean things up and re-seal them. Check around there also.

If I were to guess what happened, I'd say the silicone failed, and water was getting in behind the trim. When it froze during the winter, it pushed the trim away from the wall. I would clean it up good, make sure everything is dry, put the trim back on, and give it a good seal.

Actually found a photo I took of how I found the bottom trim pulled out of place. Not sure what would have caused this. It was an auction/seizure...so who know what the tow guys did to it...could have been yanked around a bit roughly when it was seized. I removed the screws from the bottom trim and was able to re-insert it properly and added some silicone where I could...not sure what else I could do.
Anways...both sides seem a little loose and shift a bit.

Hey all,
2011 177 So, first spring with the new (to me) R-Pod, and while installing new electrical (solar) and doing other stuff underneath, I noticed that there appears to be water leaking (seeping) at both of the front corners, right at the bottom where the side meets the front and there are end-caps covering the corner moldings. The black underside appears to be holding some moisture and I removed some screws to get things adjusted, there appears to be some water damage inside...this apparently is not too new. Interestingly, I found it because on the "back-side" of the pod, I noticed the side wall, near the front, had actually pulled out of the little channel of the bottom rail. On the "front-side" (also at the front), there also seems to be some play where the wall panels are shifting a little in the rails. Sorry, not sure that makes sense. Anyone have any thoughts, ideas, experience with this? Grant |
