Thanks guys. My friend who has a boat has suggested using distilled white vinegar as a wash before using a surfactant (like Meguaires) to actually wash the fiberglass - that would probably take care of the little gray spots.
I think I'll give Meguaire's Wash and Wax a try - on easily with a mitt, then rinse off - sounds about my speed!

we use Meguiares Ultimate Wash and Wax. It is very easy and does not require buffing. after you have washed, simply mix the wax with the recommended water amount and wipe it on with a cloth or mitt. Rinse with water and dry with microfiber. We';ve used it for 6 years and the pod still lokks good. VannIt is vey much a liquid and sheet drains off.

Just finsihed washing my R-Pod 178 - used McGuires stuff - good surfactant. The prospect of waxing it, however, is daunting. Does anyone know of a spray on wax/polish (or water-mix wash) that would do the trick? It would be neat if one could apply something and then simply wipe at it with a mitt or cloth, rather then the laborious application of the McGuire's wax/polish. I'm approaching 80 yrs old and some things just get harder!
Also- I have found it hard (using just McGuire's soap) to remove all the small gray spots that are probably mold spots. I have had good results with Spray 'n Forget on wood and concrete - has anyone used it on their R-Pod gel coat?
