+1. Or just don't use the Zamp port which just increases your wire length and resistance losses unnecessarily, and wire your solar directly to the battery (via a fuse as Colt suggests).

That is just a connection to the battery (with the polarity reversed, use caution). You'll need a charge controller and panels. And a fuse.

My 2016 R-Pod 171 I just picked up came pre-wired for solar (there is a plug port in the rear right outside wall of the trailer with a "Zamp Power" sticker under it).

Does this mean all I have to do is plug in solar panels and it will start charging the battery? Or do I need to wire in a solar charge controller? There isn't one anywhere in the RV that I'm aware of.
