I replaced the counter top in our r-pod 171 and our forest river Vibe with plywood the mdf that forest river uses doesn't work well if it gets wet. When I replaced the sink in our Gulfstream Vista cruiser I was happy to discover Gulfstream used plywood something more RV manufacturers should do.

Edmonton might be a little nippy for you this time of year...

I agree with GlueGuy, if the partical board has gotten wet it will need to be replaced, there is no getting things to stick to that stuff if it's been damaged and is swollen. If a trip to Edmonton is not an option then maybe try a local shop that does laminate kitchen countertops. It shouldn't seem like a big job at all to those guys. An RV shop will charge you an arm and half a leg. But sure to have them use plywood and not more crappy particle board. It will inevitably get wet and swell again.

Well, if you lived next door to me, I might consider it.

If it's just the laminate that's lifted off the substrate I agree. However, if the particle board underneath is frangible, then the primary thing is to get the particle board back together. I guess it's a judgement call.

If it was mine i replace the counter top with 3/4" plywood and flat work laminate with solid oak edging.

Don't use Elmer's. Use something like Titebond III or Titebond Ultimate. This glue is stronger than wood, and the ultimate version is even water proof.
