440W should produce around 25-30A at noon on a sunny day..The fridge at 12V takes about 11-12A. So yes 449W should maintain the battery while running the fridge oubder those conditions. But it won't do squat when driving at night or in a cloudy day. Better to plan on maintaing charge on your trailer battery using your tow vehicle alternator while driving. You can of course charge from both sources simultaneously as well. |

Most people will operate the refrigerator on propane while driving. some of the newer/larger models may not have propane as an option.

I'm curious about solar on a RPOD. If you got a larger (than 440) panel, would it run the refrigerator while you are driving?

Home Depot is having a sale on Nature Power 440 watt kits for $447 including a 30A charge controller and 750 watt inverter. A buck a watt is pretty good if you need a controller and inverter as well as the modules.
