If you have a miter saw, that would be okay. A manual one is fine. A powered one is better. If you can get the use of a compound miter saw, you can really get creative.

A table saw with an accurate fence is helpful to make slots in the boards to hold the new bottoms. A router can also be used if you have a router table with a fence to make sure your material has a consistent distance for all the pieces.

Anyway, good luck on your project.

I did mine when we had a 179.  I think I knocked out the sides of the original drawer and saved the front and the back.  I then cut longer sides and a new bottom.  You have to use the same thickness material as they use in the original.   Reassemble the drawer and remount the drawer slides.  If you don't have a table saw, you can probably borrow one from a friendly neighbor (who might even help you) or rent one.

Yes. Somewhere in my mods, I have description and pictures. I reused the face plates but built new boxes that, for the kitchen lower shelves were deeper (I couldn't do the top shelf). For the wardrobe, I got smart and made them both longer and deeper. I've been meaning to re-do the kitchen ones to make them deeper also, but haven't gotten that 'round tuit'.

Has anybody expanded the length/depth of the kitchen drawers? We have a RP-178 and there appears to be about 6 inches of dead space beyond the back of the two drawers. Any Pod Mods telling/showing how to extend the drawer?
Thanks!
