I think the new Ram 1500 with the 3.6 V6 can be ordered with a 325 or somewhere near that differential. The manufactures need to reach a certain average MPG over all vehicles sold. The Ram is able to with the right gearing achieve 25 MPG. But will not make a good tow vehicle for anything of much weight or wind load.   David

Why they would put that high of a gear ratio in a 6 cylinder truck is beyond me.  The Jeep Liberty 4X4 I used to have came with 373's.  I changed them to 411 for off roading and yep the gas mileage suffered.  My currant tow vehicle, Ford F-150 4X4 has 373 in it.  But it is a V-8.

My '08 Silverado with 5.3L V8 and 3.73 rear end still hits the wall around 55 MPH.

Gearing won't change the "wind wall" above 50 mph.  Every TV reported on here feels it.  I have 3.42 in mine.  Just remember your mpg will drop by going from 3.23 to 3.73.

We took the pod out for a test drive yesterday to check the new bearings and seal, and a test tow with our 2006 Chevy 1/2 ton,v/6 4.3'automatic with 323 gear ratio. Any how thinking of changing to 3.73. The truck tows great up to about 50 mph and then the resistance takes hold. Any thoughts?
