You don't need much to hold a few clothes on.

When I took off the factory rod the screws were not in any kind of studs nor did they use any molly bolts or anything.

Just a couple of screws in the wall material seem to be fine to hold a clothes rod up with.  Those panels are a thin wood sheet with the texture laminate covering over it.  I'd wager it'd be as strong a hold as your drywall at home.

If you had a huge concern about it still put a bit of foam tape between your mounting bracket and the screws.  Let it be screwed and stuck both!

There have to be studs, but worst case you can use molly bolts.

I saw your post duirng my original search.  The dealer tells me there's nothing in the wall (no stud) to fasten to so I'm curious to know what you found.  My pod has a hollow panel on one end that covers the wiring.  The other end seems solid enough and I can probably find a stud.  But how to handle the hollow end has me stumped.  Can you tell I'm not handy?  LOL

I always bumped my head on the rod at night, so I cut it in half.

If you want something done right, do it yourself.

We removed the yellow storage thing after the first trip but have always used the bar that is in Travis's picture to hang good clothes on. I would not get rid of it as it turns that small space over the potty into a great little closet. Goose

Nice thing about tensions rods is you don't have to put too much tension on them to work.  There is another photo out there on google somewhere of someone using one.  I never heard anyone mention they hurt anything so I guess it works just fine.

Thanks everyone for the advice and information.  The photo is especially helpful and I'll work on this over the winter.

My 178 does have a drop down clothes rod over the bed, but my lab is a shedding machine that hasa claimed the bed as his own - hence the need for a better clothes closet option.  :)

Wonderful!  Thank you so much for all your advice and information.  The photo is especially helpful and I'll start working on this myself over the winter months.

BTW, my 178 does have a small drop down rod that extends over the bed.  But my lab is a shedding machine that have claimed the bed as his own - hence a need for a better clothes closet option.  :)
