It is rare that Myrtle even gets close to freezing, so the danger of pipes freezing is very slim indeed.  However, 2 months in Myrtle might be a tad bit too much for anyone ... if it was me I would go with splitting it up like you are thinking of doing, with half in Daytona and half in Myrtle.

My wife and I were thinking of going to Myrtle Beach next February for a two month stay. I was wondering if our RPOD would handle the cold nights, danger of pipes freezing up!
Has anyone tried this trip, would like to hear from you, would we be  safer to go to Daytona for February then head up to Myrtle in March.....
