We have a 2011 F150 with a 3.5 Eco boost. For us it's just right plenty of power for towing and about 13-14 mpg towing. 20 mpg not towing.

I'm sure the F-150 is a great truck.  However, I want to remind people that the Expedition is essentially a F- 150 with a different body.  We love our Expedition for pulling the Pod, but it also is a great vehicle for other reasons-enclosed storage, seats 8, handles well, quite and powerful. We've put almost 30,000 miles in long distance travel on it and it still is  great.

try it before you buy something else.

My only thought would be to consider the 3.5.. you may not stay with a light trailer, and bigger is ALWAYS better when it comes to tow vehicles.

This year we barely scraped up enuf to buy an Rpod 179.  We lve it.  Next year we are planning on getting a good rig to pull it.  Leaning right now towards a truck with canopy- an aluminum framed F150 with a 2.7 ecoboost V6. Supposed to get 29mpg.  What do Rpod owners recommend?
