One area to avoid at all costs is 95 south of DC.  Especially on a Friday afternoon.

You can tow your pod over the chesapeake bridge and tunnels, you just have to have your gas turned off. We have done it the last 4 year to Hatteras. It cost $18.00 if you are towing a pod.

I'm talking about Bay Bridge up by Annapolis, but as far as I know there is no problem with propane tanks on either Bay Bridge or Bay Bridge/Tunnel. Wind can be a bigger problem.

The Bay bridge. Is that the Chesapeake Bay Bridge?
I have a Propane Tank attached on my trailer. I have not crossed the bridge in years but I thought vehicles having Propane tanks were not allowed.
Thank you
Ken

We got radical last year and took 295 south to Wilmington, short length of 95 to 1/301 down to Bay Bridge, across and all the way down to Richmond. Not sure I would do it again, but we did miss Philly, Balto and Washington.

BTW, 95 through Philly really, really sucks. It has sucked for years, it still sucks and will probably suck for more years. I would definitely avoid that. Drove it yesterday without pod.

You can go out the Mas pike to 87 south, then to 287 south, then rte 1 south for about 30 miles, then 295 south to 95 south to Florida.
Will save a lot of money in tolls and avoids NYC , Newark and DC.

I am planning to travel to Florida from Boston in mid January. Anyone know of a way to avoid going through the major cities (New York, Washington DC, Baltimore, etc.)? Like to stay on major highways and trying to stay away from mountains if possible. I am pulling a R-Pod 178 with a Honda Pilot.
Thank you
Ken
