Travis, on the R-dome, what model/color/order size should I be looking for for a 180? We're due to pick ours up next Wed - with an R-dome - and I'm hoping to avoid a mismatch. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. I compared my R-Dome to the new ones delivered to my local dealer in October, and it was exactly the same. So, I wrote FR and described the problem and sent them the pics I posted here. They agreed to send me a new one, so I thought the problem was solved. Got the new one, and the bead was exactly the same as the one I had (9.4mm at the widest, but 8.35mm diagonally). Talked with FR again and they said the one they sent was the correct one, even though the bead will not stay in the track.
If you have an R-Dome that works with the 14mm Keder rail, will you please tell me the width of the bead on yours? Thanks for the help. |

Yep.. the tag has almost always been found at the bottom of the "front door" window.. and I would for sure like to see the color of the dome fabric.. |

That appears 100% to be the old dome.
Easy question, what color is it? Also if you look inside below one of the windows you'll find a tag with the model number on it. Color alone can prove 100% it is wrong, but the model number from that tag would also be undeniable proof.

We purchased our R-Pod 179 in March of 2015. We also purchased an R-Dome that was believed to fit in the Keder track installed at the time of manufacture. During our first outing in April, we discovered that the "Keter" type bead on the R-Dome was not the correct size for the 14mm track on the trailer. I reported this immediately to our dealer, but was told I was wrong and this is the correct R-Dome. My wife and I tried numerous times to install this R-Dome, but could never get the 9mm bead stay in the 14mm track (see photo). It would slip out anyplace across the length of the track, and we were never able to complete the installation.
Have other R-Pod 179 owners experienced the same problem with their R-Dome? R-Dome_for_R-Pod_179.jpg |
