Picked up our 180 on Saturday.  Yes, you can only control the fan at the fan itself.

None of the RPods come with a remote Fantastic Fan.  You can do an upgrade kit and modify it yourself though.

Look up into the fan, on the opposite side of where the knob is located that raises and lowers the vent cover is another knob that turns the fan on and sets fan speed.
