Shoot some wasp and hornet spray in each hole - doesn't take much. Walk away and check in a few hours. If no activity, take the cover off and flip the nest away. Don't worry about the wasps that didn't get zapped - they will die anyway since they don't have a home. The fumes shouldn't get into the coach, since the burner is completely outside.

I made screen coverings for all of the vents. I used standard aluminum screen wire and a hot glue gun. the screen wire is small enough gauge that it can easily be bent and cut with kitchen scissors. I formed the screen in the size and shape necessary and then used the hot glue to attach it to the vent covers. I did this several years ago and they are still totally stuck tothe covers.

You could try taking a shop vac and getting them out that way. However,
then you would have a shop vac with some very upset wasps. Or, you could turn the furnace on and roast them if they have not yet built a nest large enough to block the airflow.
This might be better: In the evening, when they settle down, spritz some wasp killer in there? Once they are dead, then you can get the nest out. Afterward, put screens over the openings. I ordered screens from Amazon for all the openings in the furnace, water heater, and refrigerator. |
