I've been looking around lately also, take a look at the camp chef weekender or the ranger series. It looks a little bigger than a Colman and can sit on a table. On their website they have a hose that connects to the quick connect. I think any stove or grill that has a regulator on the hose, that you can bypass. But check with the manufactures.

I have heard of folks running even Coleman propane lanterns this way. I think the caution mentioned, on my stove, is there cause some folks may try to hook straight to the 20lbs. bottle, with no regulator??? (maybe a lawyer thing)

To the OP, check out the Camp Chef Explorer stove. It's exactly what I am looking for except the burners are huge!

+1 on the Camp Chef Explorer.  I've seen several of them at various campgrounds, and people seem to really like them, though I don't own one myself.  They certainly get good reviews on Amazon.

You might want to look at this thread:

Link

It shows what I recently purchased plus what a few others like. One note on the Coleman Grill Stove - the label (pictured) says "Do not connect to a remote gas supply". You would need to use the one pound bottles of propane.

I would also love any recommendations for a stand alone outdoor stove. I have looked at the Camp Chef series, but the burners are more suited to 10 gallons of chili than warming up soup for two.

I recently purchased a 182G with the "kitchen" area in the back.  There is a gas jet that runs from the propane tank.  I'm looking for a stand alone stove to hook up back there.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  It's hard to find one made for RVs that is not heavy but that sits on a stand.

Thanks,

See you out there!
