Makes sense, water is hygroscopic.

Thanks Osage for thinking about my question. I believe that I have found out what it is that I am seeing. Salt. We have had the salt shaker in the drawers fall over while traveling. I believe that the scattered salt changed into a kind of liquid in a high humidity situation. "When it rains it pours"??

Today I was completing a Mod to install the recessed two burner gas stove insert in my 179. While cleaning I found what I first thought to be water in the drawers next to the cabinet I was working in. While looking for a source I discovered that this was really small droplets of an oil material. Very small drops like it had been sprayed. These drawers are located under the kitchen sink and the spray was both in the two lower drawers and on the floor under the lowest drawer. The vent piping on the sink has (what I will call a dry cap) on the vent piping.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this situation? Any idea how this vent works and could it be the source of the spray? Jeff Sundberg
