Being in the golf course business, the Gold Standard is indeed the Trojan battery, and we have had excellent results with that brand.  However, in the north where we are the majority of our golf carts on the fleet are gas.  We have 130 Yamaha's and 40 E-Z-Go.
Back to business, our 2 deep cycle 12 V Group 24 Interstate batteries were purchased in March 2011;  they still perform very well, we still get 3 days out of each one, and that includes using the furnace a fair amount.

Our Duracell SLIGC110 batteries are approaching a year old. They are performing adequately. We purchased them at Batteries + Bulbs. Right now, there is a 10% off deal if they are purchased online and picked up in store. The price is listed at $99.99 each. Take $10 off and the price would be $89.99. We had to pay a core charge since we did not have any batteries to trade. I was able to take advantage of a military discount which helped offset the core charge. They might not be the "gold standard," but the price was right for us. I consider them to be a good value.

Trojans are widely considered the best, but US Battery makes a comparable product.  Exide is another brand. All three of these companies actually manufacture the batteries they sell.  Interstate, Duracell, batteries plus, sams, etc do not manufacture GC batteries.  If I were buying new GC batteries, I would buy either US Battery or Trojan

Based on my Google searches, it appears that the Duracell batteries are manufactured by Deka/East Penn. They weigh 64 pounds each. I saw one report of a person getting 8 years of service out of one. We have two of the Duracell 230Ah batteries we bought from Batteries+Bulbs on our 179, but we haven't really put them to the test yet.

As of this summer, the Interstate GC2 is a rebranded Trojan T-105. Costco also carries the Interstate Golf Car batteries which are Trojan also. If you buy at Costco, Only Costco can warranty the battery.

Hi,
We're ready to replace our bad battery with 2 6v golf cart batteries. Do you recommend any brands specifically because of good performance? Thanks. We have a 2016 179.
