Well folks I feel like a dummy. I went out and looked in my glove compartment and to my surprise there was a package with a fuse and relay and is now installed. All these years and didn't realize they were in there, battery never went dead.we stayed in full hook up parks

I have  a 2013 F150, with tow package and heavy duty payload package (7 lug special).
When i bought the truck there was a fuse in a bag in the glove box which i installed with instructions stating it was for "trailer tow battery charge relay power". The integrated brake controller was already operational. If the dealer is installing the brake controller they will install the fuse and relay with the kit.
Ask about the battery charge fuse and relay when you are there.

My 2013 F150 came with the wiring harness for the brake controller and the relay both of which I installed...it took a few minutes to install.

Just bought a new 2015 F150 XL, with 53A tow package. It does not incude the integrated brake controller, so I ordered the factory controller and will have the truck dealer install it. The wiring harness is in the glove compartment.

Do I still need to have a separate fuse and relay installed in order to have the truck charge the Pod battery while traveling?
