Update to my earlier post. Just by chance I placed my thumb over the end of the antifreeze filler hose and turned the bypass valve on. The water pressure seemed to back up into the pump and then stopped. I repeated several more times, each time leaving the faucet on and turning the city water off to relieve the pressure. Maybe I wasn't fully pressurizing the system after installing the accumulator tank. Oh well, it works now and I'm happy.

Well I am stumped. I purchased the Shurflo 182 tank and installed it next to the water pump using the little connector that came with it. Works fine when not connected to city water, but as soon as I turn on the city water (with water pressure regulator attached) I hear a hissing sound. It's definitely coming from the pump, near the filter side. I'm thinking that too much pressure is forcing the water back into the tank? When I turn the bypass valve on for the antifreeze hose, water starts to come out.

Any ideas as to where I should add the accumulator tank? Again, it works great if not connected to city water.

Thanks!
Don

Podrunner,

Which model Shurflo 182 accumulator did you use?

I just completed "summerizing" my trailer and added the Shurflo 182 accumulator to the water system.  I do not know if the newer pods have a pump noise problem, but my first generation 151 certainly did.  Installing the tank probably reduced the pump noise level  by  50% and the flow no longer pulsates. Install required no tools and took all of 5 minutes, and the pump kit even includes the adapter to connect the tank to the pump.  No additional parts needed.  All in all a very good return on a $40 investment.Smile

Happy Trails..
