I just bought a RP179 and would like to get a slide out topper. Any suggestion on a good one to buy and are they easy to install?

Thanks,
Luke

Cannot comment on the first part of your question as I never installed one on ours and it is nearly 7 years old.  It would seem to be relatively simple in that there is already the keder rail installed over the slide area to attach to.  Many on this forum have done this and there are a good number of posts and pictures posted (look under topic search- upper right) to help you in your quest.

PahaQue sells them, they are on the web. Make sure you get one for a 179 and correct keder rail.

Longtrail,
I bought and installed a carefree topper from my local rv dealer. You can go on carefree's website and it tells you how to measure for it and you can even buy it direct from them. On page 2 of my slopodmods page have pictures and a brief how to. Let me know if you have any questions.

Checked out the Carefree for the slideout topper. Plan to order one.

Thanks for the info.

We have a Carefree topper on our 179's slide. Except for feeding the fabric into the keder rail (the 179's slide is long, so it took my both my wife and I to do it), installation was a snap.

Good to hear. I think it will be a good add to our RPod
