There are CPAP machines that are designed to run on low power and some even have built-in batteries. Depending on your situation, this could help.

Their reason was that those 2 units will operate our CPAPs longer than 2-12 volt batteries with less chance of dropping the batteries below 50% capacity, the units are voltage and current sensitive.
I am no electrical engineer but figure these folks know what they are talking about as they have to support their units.

That is essentially what I do with my one CPAP machine. The only time I ran the batteries down was the very first night of our first trip when I attempted to run the refrigerator on battery power. I have not repeated that mistake. Since then, I have not run short on battery power, even when our converter went bad last year. I found out what was wrong in time to purchase a battery charger and use that until we got home and I could replace the converter.
