We did a pair of nice, 50F degree bags, over a eurotop mattress. If we were boondocking and letting it get "airish" at night, we threw on an extra comforter.

We use a custom fitted bottom sheet that my wife made. On the top we have various choices depending on the weather. We use a regular cotton sheet or a flannel sheet for the top. Then we use either a lightweight pile blanket  or an unzipped old Coleman slleeping bag. Sometimes we use both or we also have a second Coleman bag that can either be zipped together for a tandem or 2separate bags. The Coleman bags are at least 15years old .we store the extra sleeping gear in a plastic tote

With the sleeping bags, one doesn't have to run down the battery at night with the fan, and just wait until morning to reach over and turn on the heater , and start the percolator .  by the time the percolator is finished it is warm - sort of - in the pod.

We finally made a choice. Ya we're slow of this stuff... Actually just research a lot and discuss what we like and don't. Finally we both said 'Yes'.
And a buy two deal that put me at $107. The next one of same type that we liked was at $120 each.

The quest came down to 4" thick and 30" wide. Well, that's a challenge as we learned. Also found we want something that had air (adjustment of firmness) and foam (in case it fails at night).

Here's what I bought.

May not be for you and heck, my not be the right choice for us, but we will soon learn.

This is only 3" thick (just under the goal) but with the pad that comes with the R-Pod should put us at 5" of mattress and adjustable firmness.

Camping World is the king of sticker shock. I don't go anywhere near it.

+1. Stopped by the Camping World in Syracuse ,NY last week. Their prices seem to be a bit padded!
Though I do like going, they hav everything you could want.

I use them for research, most of the time, the same thing can be found cheaper elsewhere, but sometimes, they are cheaper, or the only ones with a certain item..
They recently seem to be doing better on their pricing, AND, now offer free shipping, no minimum purchase etc, for Good Sam members.

The exact measurements on my 2016 171 are 74 1/2 X 62. Are all R-pods the same??
I'm looking for a fairly firm mattress to fit it, eurotop is too expensive, so is Camping World. I like the idea of a futon type, not too thick thats easy to move. Any ideas?
