BTW - We use the same coupler lock as StephenH. Our goal is to "encourage" potential thieves to go somewhere else. I do still think the proven is the best, but I'm not wearing rose colored glasses either. |

Pretty sure the answer is "maybe not". The way the puck lock interfaces with the shroud makes it impossible. See the shroud is built in such a way that you can't get "behind" the puck. BUT.. if a guy was worried, they make stainless steel, hardened steel, mil spec, etc, puck locks. Here is one.. |

What I'm talking about is the opening at the bottom. I think there is enough room to get the business end of a crowbar in there: |

Har! Sorry about that!
The pin on that puck is near the top, and when I watched it being installed, it sure "looked" like it rocked around a lot. So I thought you could tip the bottom end out enough to insert a wedge, like a screwdriver, and then insert the crowbar. Maybe not. How wide is that opening, and how much of a gap can you create? It's OK to wait until the snow melts... |

Thanks for venturing out brother. And putting the naysayers to rest.

Mine fits snug enough that I have to smack the front of the lock to get the pin up. It doesn't rock or move at all. The whole thing fits good and tight. I have to get the chains in exactly the right place, or the shroud won't seat far enough to get the puck on either. There is no play in any direction with it. |

I just came across one called Trailer Gator. It looks to be very secure and about half the price of the Proven Locks models. I will look at them more closely and may order one.
