At the Dayton, NV state campground, we're luck to have flush toilets and a pump out station.  And we NV residents get to pay half price.  But showers, we don't have enough extra water for that sort of thing.  Once every couple weeks was all the miners ever needed when they came out of the 125º F mines.  If it's good enough for them it's good enough for all.

No.. just no.. LOL.

I HAD to go a couple months, a few different times, in a desert without a shower. While working hard, in a tank. We own campers just so I never have to do that again. LOL. and a/c.. We have a 100 gallon bladder for the truck bed, and a sewer tote. So as long as we can reach a supply point, and a dump station, we could stay out forever.

My wife laughs, but she understands, on any given day, at some random time, I may just get up, and go take a shower, regardless of if I have been splitting wood or working on a tractor or just watching a movie. Because I can.

You've never had to wash diapers (yes the old cloth ones) while limited to 280 gallons of water a day due to a drought.  Showers, especially long ones, have become a luxury out west.  Maybe we need to build a giant pipeline to siphon off water from the Mississippi a little south of Paducah. You'd hardly miss it and the Mississippi at New Orleans could look just like the Colorado where it enters México. They'd have no more floods!

well I did have to wash diapers, or at least help with them.. and Cali wasn't in a drought then, but fresh water has always been a bit of an issue there, esp when we lived up at Truckee. My parents moved us to the valley floor/delta area when I was in the 5th grade.. water wasn't a BIG issue then, but was talked about.. now it certainly is.

My families motto has always been "no solids in the toilet" whether sailing or trailering.  To that end we use a product called "Go anywhere toilet kit" that can be found on line. They come with a bag that seals and fits under the open ring of the toilet seat.  I would not recommend using the toilet paper that comes with it though. You can and we have on occasion made a couple of consecutive dumps before discarding.

Now to me, that would be a lot more gross than dealing with the black water tank.
