Hi everyone,

Saw lots of positive reviews of backsplashes on R-Pod so we decided to try it. Found some really nice peel and stick but see one problem. Our 179 has a 1" x 1/8" strip about 2" above the counter running the entire length of the back wall. Just wondering how other people dealt with this. The peel and stick obviously won't fit with the strip in place.

So the previous owners did our backsplash, with something similar to http://www.campingworld.com/peel-and-stick-mosaics-canyon-5-pack.  From what I can tell they cut it along a horizontal seam and used that to align the backsplash.  Our trailer is in getting serviced currently, otherwise I'd attach a picture.

We put a backsplash in our 179.  That wood strip you refer to is just tacked on there.  I used a small and slim pry (type used by Bee Keepers) and it just came off without any difficulty.  The strip now lives under the cushion for the couch.  Then we used the peel and stick from the counter upwards.  Note - don't expect the counter to be exactly level.  We had about 1/4" from one end to the other.

I just purchased some peel and stick backsplash for our 2015 179 and am curious if anyone used additional adhesive to keep the sheets in place? We live in Kansas and the trailer is stored outdoors in extreme heat and cold weather elements and I don't want to have it come off due to the extremes.Any ideas?

We'll be putting our backsplash on shortly and will let you know how it works out.

Tom,

Thanks for you quick response. I’m just hopeful the modifications we’re maki g are all positive ones. Although we have said this is the last travel trailer we will purchase. 😉

Thanks again,
Emalea

We used this product from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011VKAS9K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) as both a kitchen and bath backsplash.  We did not use any extra adhesive and in both places it lasted through hot summer and cold winter.  We just bought the same product and put it in our new RV.  Really gives a classy look and tomato paste washes right off.
