I am starting to put together some R-Pod 101 videos for newbies. This one is on setting up on a small site that is downhill and slopes away. Beginner level for anyone interested. ~PP

Nice job on the video, PilotP.
A constructive suggestion: You may want to pick up the pace a little in your very informative presentation.

I respectfully disagree with the process shown. I was told, and I never thought, it is a good idea to have the emergency brake cable fed thru the safety chains. If the hitch failed, the trailer brakes will not engage because the brake cable is longer than the chains. You will have to try to stop, and that will cause the trailer to lurch forward. Also, I NEVER remove my break away cable while unhitching. Even chocked, I don't take a chance that once i unhitch it might roll back. At that point the only thing that will stop it is the emergency break away cable. Once i've unhitched, and gotten the friction bars off, then i remove the break away cable, as i've seen that the pod has sat stationary for several minutes without any hitch controlling it. Just my opinion

I might as well chime in as well. Many people suggest never using any wood pieces as they can attract bugs and you transport them all over. We use the leveling pads since there as so many in a kit we always have several left over and pile whatever is left under the electric jack

I'm from the camp that never runs my ebrake cable thru the safety chains, I do however always ensure my ebrake cable is a bit shorter than the safety chains fully extended and connected to the TV. Over a year ago this was a big topic on forum, with lots of opinion. If I want to ensure the trailer doesn't roll away even chocked, I pull the pin on the ebrake. Once engaged I can put the pin back in when trailer is stable. I also don't pull the ebrake until the trailer is level and the stabilizers are down.

It was a good video about leveling in difficult places. Someday we'll make a video about laying carpet and see how many folks don't like the drapes.
